ROCKEFELLER TOWNSHIP — Police in Northumberland County are investigating the theft of a dog. Somebody took the animal Sunday from a front yard along Captain Bloom Road in Rockefeller Township, outside Sunbury. The pitbull/mastiff mix goes by the name of Sadie. Surveillance photos show the alleged thief at the Medicap Pharmacy in Olyphant . TOWAMENSING TOWNSHIP – Two puppies taken from a store in Carbon County are back after someone left them nearby. The puppies were found next door at the Barn Door Restaurant Wednesday night. They were left in a carrier, according to an employee at Country Junction. The puppies were taken from County Junction last week, leading to a police investigation. There is no word if authorities have identified the people seen on camera suspected of taking the puppies.

Police in Moosic say a woman was shopping at the K-Mart on Birney Avenue, when two men took her purse out of her cart. Authorities confirm one man is in custody.
